Best Releases of 2023 Vol. II by Silicone Prairie Silicone Prairie  -  II LP Feel It Records Kansas City Missouri  (U.S.A.)    Vol. II is a breezy mishmash of 60's garage, discordant melodies & layered samples of German language dialogue peppered sporadically throughout II's half an hour running time, whilst musical proceedings are predominantly calculated at manageable speeds, Silicone Prairie are not averse to the odd speedy rhythm change. It's playful and full of gusto & there's no doubt in my mind that they had a lot of fun recording this record and it's definitely apparent this is the case in the overall execution of the music. It took me a long time to sit down and write some in depth thoughts on some of my favourite records I heard in 2022. So after new year emanating into existence before i even realised it and then spending a month in Japan exploring the country and hitting various shows, i'm finally ready to publish my list... Best Albums of 2022  The Unscratchable Itch by Sniffany & The Nits   Sniffany and The Nits  -  The Unscratchable Itch LP Prah Records Brighton (United Kingdom)    Sniffany and the Nits already hold an incredible pedigree of musicianship already within their ranks, with members being shared between Ex-Void, The Tubs and Joanna Gruesome. From the opening track (which the album takes its title) we are bombarded with rh...
